Before becoming a Sweet Adeline, Janet was involved in a variety of musical pursuits. She has sung all types of music ranging from pop, rock, folk to musical theater, operetta and classical choral music. She played the bagpipes and was a member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade Pipe Band in Montreal. In 1992 she joined the Greater Montreal Chorus and then became a member of Canadian Showtime Chorus in 1997 where she is currently an Assistant Director. She has been in a number of quartets, twice placing second at the annual regional competition.
